Slappy came across an article by Lara Witt the other day called “10 Thing Every Intersectional Feminist Should Ask on a First Date” from an online magazine called Wear Your Voice. This isn’t exactly our bag, but we figured it’d be fun and interesting to go through each of the questions and gives answers from our libertarian point of view.
It’s probably borderline insane to think it’s normal to ask these sorts of questions on a first date. That’s probably the biggest problem that I have with people like this author. I’m a libertarian anarchist, so I understand that most people are not going to agree with me on a wide range of topics. That’s fine. I have to be the voice for ending the oppression that I see. But it seems silly and counterproductive to me to immediately push people away whose views don’t fit the same paradigm as mine. Nearly everyone is against oppression—or at least that’s what they think they believe. While I think that a number of Witt’s views are wrong, we’re pretty much in the same boat as far as how the rest of society views our positions.
So while we’re not trying to mock Witt, we do have some fun with this episode. We’re trying to be fair and give the benefit of the doubt, but if you think we’re wrong about something, let us hear about it.
